This year’s TEDxToronto conference is fast approaching. On Friday, October 27, 14 speakers and 4 performances will grace the stage at Evergreen Brick Works. The annual conference will once again provide a platform for change makers to share ideas worth spreading.
Did you want to attend the conference but couldn’t make it in person? Don’t worry: the conference will be livestreamed on our website, so you can easily catch the talks from the comfort of your home or office.
We know a large part of the conference is discussing the talks with those in your community, so we’ve provided some tips for how you can plan a livestream party at your home or office:
1. Invite your friends or colleagues
Do you have friends or colleagues who might be interested in catching the talks and performances? Let them know the event is coming up! Be the office hero and pitch this as an exciting team-building opportunity to your boss.
2. Prepare the tech
On the morning of the conference, visit the TEDxToronto website to watch the talks on your computer.
If you have a Chromecast or Apple TV device with a connection to Wi-Fi, you can mirror the talks onto a large screen TV for your friends or colleagues to enjoy together. The event will begin streaming at on October 27 at 10:00 AM EDT.
3. Gather your snacks
No viewing experience is complete without something to snack on. We recommend grabbing some sweet and salty indulgences to prepare your brain for the exciting ideas you’ll be sure to hear.
4. Have deep post-conference conversations
Once the talks and performances are over, it will be time to chat about them with your friends or colleagues. Think about which talk or performance resonated the most with you. You never know: while discussing what you just heard, you may stumble across your own idea worth spreading. Make sure to share your great ideas with us by tagging @TEDxToronto on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and use the hashtag #TEDxToronto!
We hope you enjoy this year’s conference!
If you miss the livestream, the talks will be made available for you to watch a few weeks after the conference. Sign-up for our newsletter to stay up-to-date on any future TEDxToronto announcements.
