Can I nominate myself as a speaker?
Absolutely. Tons of people do!

Can I nominate someone I work for, or a client of mine?
Yes, it’s their ideas that matter.

Can I nominate someone I don’t know personally?
Yes! Just let us know how you heard about this person, and why you think they belong on the TEDxToronto stage.

Will it help if I submit multiple nominations or have my friends nominate me several times?
No, all it takes is one nomination.

What types of speakers are you looking for at TEDxToronto?
We are looking for inventors, community leaders, designers, creators, and entrepreneurs that push us to see the world in new ways.

What is the speaker time commitment?
TEDxToronto speakers are deeply committed to sharing their idea and participate in a rigorous 4-month talk design and delivery coaching program.

I want to speak at TEDxToronto, but my usual talk is an hour long. Can I get a longer slot?
No, we stick by the clock for all speakers. TEDxToronto is an opportunity for you to share your ideas in a compelling and concise talk of 15 minutes or less.

What do you pay speakers?
TEDxToronto does not pay speakers. We provide them with extensive professional coaching and training. We are committed to creating an experience that’s fulfilling and beneficial on all sides. In some cases, we can cover travel expenses for those coming from a distance to speak or perform.

Is there a deadline for nominating a speaker?
Yes, the deadline is April 17, 2019, at 11:59 p.m.
