Modrobes is a company which provides sustainable performance garments. They’ve been good enough to donate biodegradable eucalyptus t-shirts for all TEDxToronto event staff, as well as for prize packs at the after-party.
Their work culture can be described as innovation-smarter, better and clean. Modrobes is a relaxed, open, friendly, and comfortable workplace where everyone is encouraged to contribute. They provide education on all the environmental aspects of clean clothing making.
The biggest win for the company has been obtaining funding from the CBC television show Dragons Den and developing a good working relationship with Investor Brett Wilson. They have also experienced a tremendous acceptance from Toronto area Bike shops where they sell garments.
Modrobes Founder and CEO Steven Saldebus remarks, “Quite simply, what we are doing is totally groundbreaking! The Modrobes Sustainable Garment Shop is the only shop like it in the world. The new line is offers 100% sustainable garments and it is all still made in Canada.”
We thank Modrobes for their contribution to TEDxToronto.
