Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, TEDxToronto is unveiling three more speakers as part of its 2012 conference lineup. TEDxToronto 2012 will take place on Oct. 26 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts.
A self-described "aggressive debater and playful inquisitor," Bednar is designing a Canadian board game that simulates domestic policymaking. A graduate of the University of Toronto's School of Public Policy and Governance, she currently works as the school's Manager of Engagement. Bednar is also an Action Canada fellow, a distinction given to the country's emerging leaders.
Da Luz is the brainchild behind behind the Power of One social car project. Called "Xof1" for short, it became the first electric vehicle to reach the Arctic, and to cross the longest ice road in the world, using only sunshine as fuel to drive 36,200 km. The project's goal is to promote the use of clean and sustainable energy to benefit mankind and the environment.
Reinsborough is the founder and director of Not Far From The Tree, a fruit-picking program that harvest fruit from the city's trees that would otherwise go to waste. For her work, Reinsborough has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Gaea Environment Award and a Women of the Earth Award.
